Red Carpet Rolls Out in Charlevoix Park
Petoskey, Michigan - The spotlight will shine on one of Charlevoix’s own, who will join Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra
on Thursday, June 20, 7 pm at the Charlevoix Park Pavillion, for the performance of “Symphonic Hollywood.”
Charlevoix resident Dana Reynolds, winner of the 2013 GLCO Concerto Competition, will perform her winning aria,
Mozart’s “Voi, che sapete,” which was featured in the movies “I Dream of Africa” and the 1995 version of “Pride and Prejudice.”
The orchestra, directed by Guest Conductor Robert Nordling will continue dazzling the audience with classical, yet familiar
compositions, such as Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody #2 and Ponchelli’s “Dance of the Hours.” The orchestra will perform
selections from well-known movies such as “Fantasia,” “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” “Midnight in Paris,” “The Social
Network,” and more.
Robert Nordling, Principal Conductor of the Baroque on Beaver Island music festival, was the founder and music
director of the San Francisco-based Bay Chamber Symphony Orchestra. He is an active clinician, educator, composer
and arranger, and has appeared with chamber and symphony orchestras throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Admission to this star-studded event is free, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Charlevoix County Community
Foundation, the Downtown Business Association and many other local businesses and individuals. Please bring yourself,
your family, a friend and a blanket or lawn chair, and join us!
