The Story of a Violin That Survived the Holocaust
This concert tells a powerful story of a violin recovered from a Nazi concentration camp which now serves as a symbol of remembrance, resilience, and the unifying power of music.
The event will further feature live performances of works by Jewish composers, readings of poetry, visual artwork created by Holocaust survivors, and firsthand testimonials from survivors and their families. Join us for a moving, multi-sensory experience that honors the past and celebrates the enduring strength of the human spirit through music and art.
Violins of Hope is an international project led by Israeli luthier Amnon Weinstein and his son Avshi, dedicated to restoring violins that survived the Holocaust and bringing them back to the concert stage. Each instrument carries the memory of a musician who endured unimaginable hardship, offering a voice to those silenced and a message of resilience, remembrance, and the healing power of music.
